Our standard

Movie Buddy, operated by Movie Buddy LLC, does not allow child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and any content or behaviour that sexualises or endangers a minor. Breaking this rule ends your account permanently.

Adults only

Movie Buddy is for people aged 18 and over. Every user gives their date of birth at sign-up, and anyone under 18 is turned away. Any account we find belongs to someone under 18 is deleted.

How we keep the app safe

Every profile photo uploaded to Movie Buddy is automatically checked for sexual and violent content, and photos that fail the check are rejected. Users can block anyone at any time; a blocked user can no longer see your profile, send you invites, or message you.

Report a concern in the app

Open the chat with the person, go to the chat details and tap Report. Choose Underage if you think the person is under 18, or Other for any other child safety concern, and add any details. Reports are confidential; the reported user is not told who reported them.

Report a concern by email

Email alfredo@moviebuddy.io and tell us what you saw. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.

What we do when we find abuse

We remove the content, permanently ban the accounts involved, and keep the records needed for an investigation. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant regional and national authorities as required by law, and we cooperate with law enforcement.
